Thirty years of hair and beauty, in her own words
My journey in hair and beauty began long before I ever imagined where it would take me. As a little girl I would sit my mum down and paint her face with the little makeup I had, creating look after look. She was my very first client, and those small moments were the beginning of a lifelong passion.
My parents saw something in me early. While I was still at school they encouraged me to take weekend classes at the Salon Academy of Hairdressing and Beauty Culture. They did not simply choose a career for me, they opened a door, and I have carried that gratitude ever since.
From a little girl with a handful of makeup to a studio of her own in Morwell.
A little girl, the little makeup she had, and a very patient mum. Without either of us knowing it, that was where it all began.
Weekend classes at the Salon Academy of Hairdressing and Beauty Culture while I was still at school, with teachers and mentors who gave me a strong foundation and the confidence to follow it.
Three decades in hair and beauty, working with wonderful and talented people at home and overseas. Backstage at international beauty events and pageants, grooming and preparing models, running hair and beauty courses, and sharing what I know at events, coffee mornings and coffee evenings.
My journey brought me to Australia, where I met my husband Paul. With his love, support and belief in me, I found the courage to start again and build something of my own.
My own brand and my own identity, built on more than thirty years of experience, with a qualified and passionate team who make every client feel special. What started with a little girl painting her mum's face is now a hair and beauty studio in Morwell.
Hair and beauty has never simply been a career for me. It has always been my passion, my creativity, my purpose and a part of who I am.
Mum and Dad, thank you for believing in me, for recognising my passion and for giving me the opportunity to follow this pathway. Everything I have built carries a little piece of the foundation you gave me.
I am grateful to my teachers and mentors, my colleagues, my beautiful clients, my family and my husband, and I give all the glory to God for every opportunity and every open door. From my mum being my very first client to building my own brand in Australia, this has been more than a career. It has been my dream, my journey and my story.
